YES,
SUNTRIPPER IS A BAND.
They started in Amsterdam, Februari 2002. Members
are Joeri Boom (bassguitar and backing vocals),
Remco Stig (drums) and Coen
Braber (leadvocals and guitar). First gig was right after the second
rehearsal. The band performed five songs on a party. Partypeople went
wild. Suntripper went: ..'YEAH!'. After spending some months in rehearsal,
working on a repertoire, the band started working on their first release.
Recordings were done (partly in the rehearsal room) with producer Mladen
Pavlovic and Isabel McKenzie. The band just finished their first album,
Apology Business Centre. A full length CD with
nine smashing songs. Release party was a big hit in an overcrowded club
in downtown Amsterdam. Before starting up Suntripper the bandmembers
built up their experience in such different bands like Painting over
Picasso, Pleasure Heads, Brian, Grabolzky and Barby-Pop
in which drummer Remco is still playing today. Together they gained
a lot of stage experience in the Dutch 'clubcircuit' and abroad. They
won several pop prices and released several CD's with different projects.
Speaking about the music, always a delicate matter, Suntripper is a
trip indeed. The band has an original rocking sound. Powerful and groovy,
and very melodic. Their tension can be both intimate and raging loud.
